August 22, 2013 The Friends of Deering Oaks had a large group of eager TAP volunteers to assist them in a clean up of Deering Oaks Park. Our fabulous hosts educated us on the history of the park and the special relationship their organization has with the City of Portland to keep the park so beautiful. We did trash pick up throughout the park as well as restored some of the park’s historic flower beds near the playground area. This entailed an evening full of weeding, edging, mulching and cleaning and the change in the landscape was dramatic.
