This event on Little Chebeague Island could not have been better! The weather was perfect, the people were stellar, and we got a lot accomplished in just a few hours. After a beautiful boat ride across the Casco Bay, we spent the day working with MITA to eradicate invasive species (Bittersweet and Swallow wort) and rebuild portions of the trail network on the island. There is still a long way to go in terms of getting rid of these destructive plants on Little Chebeague Island… but we ‘saved’ a few trees and it felt pretty darn good! We are planning another event with MITA this spring so stay tuned.
